CCC Tavush 2023: When Paths Cross Again - A Reunion of Conservation Champions

On November 18-19, the final weekend gathering of this year brought together 30 participants, a mix of stand-out alumni from our 2023 Youth for Change (YFC) and Caucasus Conservation Corps (CCC) programs and TFC core staff. The gathering served not only as a celebration of their achievements but also as a platform to share the results of 2023, unveil plans for 2024, and strengthen the bonds that form the backbone of the CCC program.

The first day started with dynamic team-building activities, fostering connections among participants from various projects. Afterwards, the core staff presented the results achieved in 2023, emphasizing the invaluable contributions of the attendees as well as laid out plans for the next year.

We had the pleasure of hosting Jessie Hess from the US Forest Service, who had the opportunity to engage with the participants. The day wrapped up with national dances and a casual atmosphere fostering strong connections among the participants.

The second day involved a hike to Aghavanavank, offering scenic views of Dilijan National Park. Guest speakers, Vahagn Vardumyan, Sona Muradyan, and Ashkhen Mesropyan, shared their insights on leadership. Spartak Hovhannisyan led a hands-on training on trail safety and evacuating the wounded.

We concluded the event by thanking the participants for their dedication, recognizing that our collective impact was only made possible by the diverse skills and passion that each individual brought to the table. CCC Tavush 2023 not only celebrated past achievements but laid the groundwork for a future where trails and conservation thrives.
