6 days Artsakh Adventure Mountain Bike Ride on the Janapar Trail with Trails For Change NGO

Along the way, you will see magnificent scenery, incredible historical points of interest and meet some of the friendliest people on earth!

The ride is a total of 150 miles (225 km) most of which is in the Republic of Artsakh (formerly known as Nagorno Karabakh) This is a very mountainous region with lush green forests.

The participation fee for the ride is $1200 which includes accommodations during the event, in-country transportation (Armenia and Artsakh), food and other details (see below for full list). Each participant may pay this fee or set up a campaign fundraiser. (we will assist to set up the fundraiser on a crowdfunding site)

The funds raised will cover expenses for the trip and the remainder will go toward improvements on the Janapar Trail and other trails in Artsakh. Not only do you get an awesome adventure but you also get to help us do something very positive.

Our fundraiser in 2018 helped us complete much-needed signage, blazing, reroutes, brushwork and other maintenance on the trail.

Our goals for 2019 are as follows:

Reroute a steep unsustainable segment of the trail near Kolatak Village

Bench cut a segment of the trail above Zuar. This segment is currently a cross country route and is difficult to follow.

Clear and mark a jeep track above Zuar that connect Zuar Village to the Janapar Trail. This trail will provide a loop option from Zuar Village and the hot springs.

There are other trails in the Gtichavank/Togh/Azokh areas that can provide other hiking opportunities but are very overgrown with brush at this time and need work.

Create a trail map of the Janapar Trail and other trails in the region.
